(Reuters) – Eddie Lampert will step down as head of the Sears Holdings Corps board, with effect immediately, a corporate archive being shown on Thursday.

The termination of the contract concerns the completion of the "going concern" transaction and is "not the result of disagreement with the company in all matters relating to the company's business, policy or practice," according to the application.

ESL Investments, Lampert's hedge fund, won a bankruptcy auction last month to buy a once-in-one c US dealer after presenting an improved offer of £ 4.26 billion.

Lampert, who went down as CEO of the company when it was filed for bankruptcy last year, had previously said he would hire a new chief to the management company.
