Drunk man to pay $ 172K to force Hawaiian Airlines flights to shore

An airline passenger who has drunk behavior on a Hawaiian Airlines flight forced the plane to land midfield, has been ordered to pay the airline $ 172,000.

Kyong Chol Kim was sentenced to Wednesday for six months in prison and ordered to pay the big fine for his appearances, forcing the February flight tied to South Korea to return to Honolulu.

Kim, 48, claimed to have extinguished a bottle of whiskey before boarding and started harassing a child sitting next to him on the plane, prosecutors said.

He then lunged on a flight attendant who tried to prevent him from harassing the child, according to prosecutors.

Members of the US military who were on the run helped prevent him when the pilot returned and landed the plane back in Hawaii.

Kim was required to pay the cost of returning the flight to Honolulu.
