Dow jumps more than 800 points as fears of interest rate hikes subside


Shares rose after recent economic data dampened investors’ expectations of aggressive interest rate hikes from the Federal Reserve, giving the S&P 500 its first weekly rise in four weeks.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 826 points, or 2.7 percent, while the S&P rose 3.1 percent. The technology-heavy Nasdaq Composite increased by 3.3%.
