U.S .. stock index futures were lower on Monday morning.
Around 01:30 am ET, Dow futures fell 105 points, indicating a negative opening of more than 121 points. Futures at S&P and Nasdaq were also lower.
Investors are watching closely for news about China-U.S.A. trade front, after President Donald Trump on Friday said he has not agreed to scrap tariffs on Chinese goods. His comments followed news from the previous week, from the Chinese Ministry of Commerce, saying that both sides had agreed to cancel existing tariffs in phases.
Market participants are also following new demonstrations in Hong Kong. Local police reportedly opened fire on Monday during mass protests, which reappeared following the arrest of three Democrats for democracy over the weekend.
On the data front, there are no planned releases.
The bond market is closed Monday due to Veterans Day.
