Dow futures higher in front of unemployed, GDP figures

U.S .. stock index futures were a little higher Thursday morning.

Around 4:10 PM ET, Dow futures had 21 points, indicating a positive opening of more than 29 points. Futures for S&P and Nasdaq were both marginally higher.

Wall Street ended Wednesday on a higher note after President Trump said a US-China trade deal could come sooner than expected. Both countries have been involved in a customs war since 2018.

Meanwhile, investors are also monitoring an inquiry request started at the House of Representatives on Tuesday, in relation to a conversation between the president and his Ukrainian counterpart, Volodymyr Zelensky. A transcript of the conversation, released Wednesday, did not appear to show and explicitly quid pro quo by Donald Trump. However, more details about the phone call have not yet been released.

On the data front, there will be figures for unemployed claims at 08:30 ET. At the same time, it will also be released the third reading of real GDP (domestic product growth) from the second quarter of this year.

Several Fed members will also speak during the day, including St. Louis Fed President James Bullard at 1[ads1]0:00 ET.
