Consumer energy, Gov. Whitmer asks people in lower peninsula to lower temperatures
One of the state's largest supplies asks people in the Lower Peninsula to lower their thermostats to help with the demand for gas.
Wednesday's Arctic blast broke records.
And this story doesn't change much by Thursday. [1[ads1]9659002] Consumers Energy asks customers in Lower Peninsula to lower the thermostats by five degrees.
And Governor Whitmer asks people in the Lower Peninsula to also turn the heat down to 65 degrees or lower.
It is because of dangerous cold temperatures, and after a fire on a downstream gas compressor station.
Consumers say you can save energy by closing all doors and windows.
