MIAMI – Coast Guard crews suspended their search on Saturday night for a carnival victory ship passership aboard.
Crews looking for 26-year-old Thomas McElhany south of Islamorada, Florida.
Coast Guard captains received a call from the cruise ship at 5 o'clock on Friday when a passenger allegedly had gone overboard.
"I've been in contact with members of Mr. McElhany's family throughout our efforts and know this is a very difficult and painful time for them," said Cmdr. David Aldous, Coast Guard 7 th District Search and Rescue Reception Coordinator. "Suspending a search is one of the hardest decisions we must make as the first respondents, and it will never be done easily."

Crews searched for about 32 hours, covering 2086 square kilometers.
