Investing.com – China's manufacturing sector barely expanded in April, showing data from the National Bureau of Statistics on Tuesday.
The official (PMI) came in at 50.1 for the month of April, lower than the expected reading of 50.5.
At the same time, official fell to 54.3 from 54.8 in March. Services account for more than half of China's economy.
A reading over 50 indicates expansion, while a reading below reflects contraction.
Separately, the private survey focusing on small and medium businesses came in at 50.2. This compares to the expected 51[ads1].0 and 50.8 from the previous month.
