There are a handful of fun and informative pro-Tesla Twitter accounts. Elon Musk's is perhaps the most famous (either his or Earl's ), and he has a pretty good grasp of humor (dad jokes and such), but another tweet that gets me to laugh on a routine basis and which I think more people should follow is The Short Shorts Historian / (@ TeslaHistorian) . This history professor is pretty good at picking out LOL funny tweets from yesterday and bringing them to the cool neon lights on today's Twitter.
In recent days, The Short Shorts Historian has highlighted tweets from 1 to 4 years ago that predicted what has clearly happened: Chevy Bolt has embarrassed the Tesla Model 3, destroyed the Tesla and put the sad Silicon Valley to boot. Hyundai Kona EV and Toyota Prius Prime also put the Model 3 in place. Alas, if only the Model 3 had a real dashboard and several buttons and knobs.
Let's first look at the predictions.
These tweets only cover the Chevy Bolt (which I really think is a nice car), the Bolt's revolutionary dashboard (obviously a joke) and Bolten's superior over-the-air updates (such as the one that installed Netflix and Smart Calling in the bolt). There's also the disruptive Hyundai Kona EV (destined for the mass market from birth) and the Toyota Prius Prime (the real lean green driving machine).
Now that we've seen the predictions, let's look at how sales have turned out.
Just make sure you don't tilt or rotate the screenshots below from how I inserted them, which is the only correct way to look at the graphs.
It's basically the end of the story. There are a few more charts below, but you can just ignore them.
