Certain dog food related to severe form of canine heart disease

The FDA examined more than 500 reports of life-threatening disease, coronary cardiomyopathy (DCM) and the possible link to certain types of dog food. The FDA identified these dog tags as the three three most frequently reported DCM cases: The FDA also said that dry food formulations have by far the most reported cases of DCM

DCM was most commonly seen in Golden Retrievers, followed by mixed breeds and Labrador. Retrievers.

The FDA report has not concluded how certain diets may be associated with DCM in some dogs.
