CBS handles $ 20 million to 18 organizations
On Friday, the self-imposed deadline for announcing beneficiaries, CBS is named 18 groups receiving donations. Two of the groups will "pay smaller grants to additional organizations," said CBS.
Using an advisory company called RALLY, CBS came up with three goals that support the initiative: "Increase the number of women in positions of power, promote education and cultural change, and support victims of harassment and abuse."
In a Joint statement said the recipients that contributions are a step to make real progress towards ending the national epidemic of sexual violence and harassment.
"We thank CBS for these donations," said the joint statement. "We also acknowledge that these funds are not a paradise, nor do they erase or give decades of bad conduct."
Contributors include the Catalyst, Freedom Forum Institute's Power Shift Project, International Women's Media Foundation, Press Forward, TIME's UP Legal Defense Fund, and Women's Media Center.
One of the other recipients, RAINN, runs the national sexual assault service.
"This generous support will enable us to help thousands more survivors," CEO Scott Berkowitz said.
Moonves was not mentioned in the name of the press release. It simply said that the "grant notice is part of the company's separation agreement with the company's former CEO."
But the donations are a reminder that the company has not yet decided to do the rest of his departure. Under the conditions of his enormously generous employment contract, Moonves was guilty of about $ 1[ads1]40 million. When he was released, $ 20 million was allocated for grants, and the remaining $ 120 million was raised in trust.
Moonves has denied any unconscious sexual relationships. His lawyer says he has collaborated fully with law firms investigators.
It is unclear whether the lawyers' findings about Moonves and CBS will be published.
