Update 5:00 – Carolina Beach Police Department Officials have still not responded to several calls for information. But other news, including WECT, reports that there were no serious injuries involved in today's car fire.

1; There is a scorcher and many people have made the trip to the beach to enjoy some heat from the heat, but in Carolina Beach it is even hotter after a police officer drove on the sand that was being burned.

On Sunday, posts circulating on social media showed a Carolina Beach Police flame truck on what looks like the northern end of the city's beach, near Freeman Park.

Police did not respond to phone calls about the incident, but the Carolina Beach Fire Department confirmed that they were responding to fire.

It is not known what the fire caused or whether the driver managed to get out of the car safely. 19659009]
