COALINGA, California (AP) – California's largest farming operation is being sold.
Fresno Bee says that Harris Ranch Beef Co. is being sold to Hanford-based Central Valley Meat Co. will operate independently of the combined ownership of Central Valley Meat Holding Co.
The paper says the deal was announced last week, but the price and other details have not been released.
The deal includes Harris Ranch cattle pens in the Central Valley that can handle 250,000 cattle along with the slaughterhouse and processing plant.
The sale does not include the company's large fish farming and horse farming or its inn and restaurant.
