British Prime Minister Liz Truss admits mistakes in the communication of the economic plan
LONDON – Prime Minister of Great Britain Liz Truss said her government could have done a better job of preparing financial markets for a surprise tax cut plan financed by increased debt, but otherwise defended the package of economic measures.
“We should have laid the ground better,” Truss said in an interview with the British Broadcasting Corp. Sunday. It was her first acknowledgment that her signature policies since taking office last month had fallen flat with investors, voters and some members of her own party.
