BA Pilots CAN BE STRICTED for Christmas as up to 280,000 passengers have been told to stay away from the biggest walkout in their history.
The airline's 1,700 scheduled daily flights across the globe have been accepted as members of the British Airline Pilots Association's (BALPA) launching a two-day strike tomorrow on pay and condition conditions.
The strike will continue until Tuesday with a further walkout scheduled for September 27.
But BALPA says it has a mandate from BA pilots to take strike action – with two weeks' notice – at any time within a six-month window.
The richest pilots at the airline – where a senior captain can earn £ 167,000 – are reportedly contributing to an unofficial strike fund to keep the conflict going.
Most passengers have been transferred to other services, although an older passenger has been stopped in Canada by the dispute.

The airline says that customers have been offered a refund, the chance to book or travel with another airline.
BA recommends that you book another flight for the next 355 days.
If you have not received an email telling you that your flight around or around September 9 and 10 has been canceled, you may be traveling with a code carrier such as American Airlines.
British Airways Customer Service can be reached on 0800 727 800 for passengers booked directly from the airline.
Travelers on CityFlyer routes, as well as flights with SUN-AIR and Comair will not be affected.

The first two days' strike is expected to cost British Airways around £ 100 million in lost revenue and additional costs.

Meanwhile, BA's 4,300 pilots were emailed and warned that the walkout would be a " serious breach "of the employment contract and could lose the travel perks.
