Prime Day sales have already started.

Angela Lang / CNET

It's almost here – in fact, in many ways it has already begun: Amazon Prime Day 2019 – aka Black Friday in July, all available – starting Monday, July 15, at midnight PT (3 in ET). The official start date is still days away, but there is already a long list of teaser agreements already available. We've pulled together our favorite offers so far below, but before doing anything else, take note of these eight ways to score the best deals on Prime Day 2019

.

Of course, as Amazon goes, the rest of the retail goes. You will check out Walmart answer to Prime Day eBay's answer to Prime Day and Goal answer to Prime Day of course, these stores run their own sales on July 15 and 16. Macy's Black Friday in July sales are already on the way, with this standout available right now: The 6-quart Instant Pot Duo for $ 49.99 with promotional code DEAL . It actually beats Black Friday pricing. (And Amazon just matched it: see below.)

This year, Prime Day holds a full 48 hours, but many Prime Day deals are likely to continue for hours (and even days) after the event officially ends. Keep this post bookmark and check it regularly for all current and still available offers.

The Best Prime Day Deals Right Now

For now, let's look at Amazon's current series of pre-Prime Day deals – Start with one announced last week: Spend $ 10 on Whole Foods, get a $ 10 Amazon credit good for use during Prime Day . You can also find deals on Ring Video Doorbell Pro, Marvel movie rentals and more. I especially like Amazon Fire TV Recast for $ 129.99 (save $ 100), a big part on the wired screen DVR.

While you're at it, so to make sure you don't miss a Prime Day sale you're looking for, your secret weapon on Prime Day and How to save even more than you expected on Prime Day . Please note that CNET may receive a share of the proceeds from the sale of the products and services discussed on this site.

Recast is Amazon's over-the-air DVR, a toll-free option for string cutters who want to play live TV. It usually sells for $ 229.99, so this is a huge savings (and no doubt the lowest price to date). Just be aware that you must pair it with an Amazon Fire TV device. They are not for sale yet, but they will soon, no doubt.

All favorite kitchen accessories have been on sale in Macy all week, but Amazon just jumped in at a similar price (one beating Black Friday, FYI). To get it, you must click (or tap) the $ 10 coupon on the page before adding it to your cart. Wondering how this model welcomes everyone else? Read CNET's story about the best Instant Pot to buy.

Another deal exclusively for Prime subscribers, Drops Ring Video Doorbell Pro and Echo Dot bundles for just $ 169 when you put them in the cart. Earlier, the ring on sale was $ 169 in itself – the icing only adds ice cream to the cake.

Between now and Prime Day, Amazon offers deep discounts on lots of magazines. Reader's Digest, for example: 10 issues for $ 8. Martha Stewart Living: 10 issues for $ 5.49. Men's Health: 10 Problems for $ 9.99. These are all print magazines unless otherwise specified.

Can't get enough MCU? In the lead of Prime Day, Amazon offers rentals of Galaxy's Guardians, Spider-Man: Homecoming, Iron Man 3, Black Panther, Avengers: Infinity War and more for just $ 1.99.

Although this dipped to a full-time $ 50 (!) Over the weekend, it's now back to $ 70 – a solid deal, but you might want to wait for Prime Day, when the full second generation Echo will almost certainly fall again.

Yes, the third gene dot has not been priced so low since November.

Compared to music streaming services such as Apple Music and Spotify, Amazon Music Unlimited is already a $ 7.99 per month deal. This promotion – which requires a Prime subscription and only applies to new Music Unlimited subscribers – gives you four full months for just one buck. After that you will be on the hook for the usual price unless you cancel.

Amazon currently has the 32GB 2017 iPad model for $ 249 (which is de facto street price these days). But the better deal is the 128GB model for $ 329. It gives you four times the storage for the same price you would pay for the 32 GB model at the Apple Store.

Óscar Gutiérrez / CNET

It's not a big discount, but it's something. Apple's flagship AirPods comes with a wireless charging cradle, a little small convenience yet super fine.

Are you not worried about wireless charging? Amazon also has second generation AirPods with standard case for $ 144.99, a savings of around $ 14.

Now that you know what's happening today, let's take a look at what to expect in the coming weeks – And how to make sure you get the best deals.

.

Should I sign up for Amazon Prime now?

As mentioned, the major sales are exclusive to Amazon Prime subscribers, and an annual subscription costs $ 119 (or $ 13 per month if you don't want to pay all at once).

Worth it? If you get it just for Prime Day, probably not. I'm here to tell you that Amazon products are on sale all the time . (Example: Amazon Echo was recently discounted to $ 50, the lowest price today – and it had nothing to do with Prime Day.)

But Prime provides a whole host of other benefits including free shipping on many products (and two days on most others) and many movies and TV shows from Prime Video.

If you don't want to pay for Prime but want access to the Prime Day deals, here's a strategy: Sign up for Amazon's free 30-day Prime trial. The only catch: It's just for new subscribers, so if you've done the test or been a member before, you can't get another try.

What other offers should I expect?

The biggest discounts are likely to apply to Amazon's own products and brands, including the full range of echo sounders, fire tablets and fire TV streamers, Kindle readers, flash cameras, and so on. Amazon says to expect "the biggest Prime Day deals on Alexa-enabled devices."

But other sellers will take advantage of the event to offer sales prices, and thus "over 1 million deals" Amazon has promised for Event.

Will Prime Day 2019 lead to lower Amazon equipment prices than Prime Day 2018? Or some day in between? We have to wait and see.

For now and for comparison, here are some current prices and their Prime Day 2018 counterparts:

Amazon equipment: Current prices vs. Prime Day 2018

* Items already on sale are shown in bold.

I guess we'll see similar Prime Day 2019 prices on most of these items, but maybe some deals that are even better. In fact, the Four TV Cube was recently priced $ 20 less than it was last year, and as mentioned above, the full Echo smart speaker was recently priced at $ 50- $ 20 during Prime Day 2018!

Where and how to shop on Prime Day

You don't have to sit on your computer to shop Prime Day. For example, if you own any kind of Alexa-compatible device (such as a fire tablet or Echo smart speaker), you can ask Alexa for Prime Day deals – some of them may only be available through voice purchases.

The Amazon mobile apps will meanwhile give you grip on the go. And if you happen to be near the whole food, you might be able to score an extra Prime Day discount. In 2018, Prime subscribers received a $ 10 Whole Foods credit. At least, you get "another 10 percent of hundreds of merchandise", according to Amazon.

Finally, don't forget to be charitable. The Amazon Smile program is a free and easy way to donate a portion of your purchase to just about any charity. Just start your shopping experience at smile.amazon.com instead of www.amazon.com. (While in it, read about other ways to give to charity without even trying .)
