Barge crashes in dock in the Detroit River




A Canadian-owned tugboat and barge has crashed into a jetty on Detroit's side of the Detroit River.

Marine Traffic crashed the vessel just west of Ambassador Bridge. It traveled about 15 km / h as it ran due.

Tugboat, called Anglian Lady had previously made a port in Detroit around 9:30.

Vessel registration shows the tugboats home port as Sault Ste. Marie.

CBC Windsor has not been able to confirm the extent of the damage or the cause of the incident.

The owner of the tugboat Purvis Marine Ltd. did not respond immediately for comment.
