Today was the deadline for AT&T and Sinclair to enter into a new agreement or see that Sinclair-owned locals and citizens would go dark. Now, at 5pm east of the moment, AT&T has agreed to keep Sinclair-owned locals.
AT&T has confirmed to Cord Cutters News that the stations are holding up as the talks continue. There is no long-term deal, but for now, AT&T will keep Sinclair-owned locals The Tennis Channel, Stadium, Comet and more on DIRECTV, AT&T TV NOW, U-verse TV and more. This is good news for sports enthusiasts who risk losing the locals just as a busy week of college and NFL football was getting started.
So far, there are no words on how long this deal is good for. It could be for a few hours that Disney expansions or a week that the last Sinclair and AT&T expansion reached.
This is news. We will post more as we learn more about the deal that kept Sinclair-owned locals and national channels on AT&T.
