Tuesday's announcement is the first time the developer has set a specific date for the complex to open. It announced a fall opening in May, after announcing a late summer opening in March. First of all, Triple Five projected on March 2019 opening.

Mills and Mack-Cali started construction on Xanadu in March 2005 with a 2007 opening date. Colony Capital took over in 2006. Construction stalled in 2009 when the money ran dry and in 2011 Triple Five acquired it.
In its May announcement, Triple Five said the opening would be phased with some elements opening in the fall and others near the holidays and into 2020. It is not clear what will be open on October 25. A spokesman for American Dream did not immediately respond to questions.
"About the coming week, American Dream will provide further insights to the property, its attractions, tenants and the exciting plans and events surrounding the opening and beyond, "the announcement Tuesday said.
Last week, American Dream announced a multi-million dollar, 10-year partnership with Coca-Cola.
