FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) – American Airlines says mechanics defy a court order and continue a decline in work disrupting flights during the busy summer season.
The mechanics' unions say American is wrong. They say the airline has gone away from contract negotiations, which can lead to low morale that can affect how quickly mechanics perform their work.
A lawsuit is scheduled Monday at the federal government of Fort Worth on a US request for a permanent injunction against the Workers Union and the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers.
The Federal Aviation Administration says it has strengthened US surveillance. It is a common step for the agency in labor disputes in the airlines.
