American Airlines emergency landing after passengers smoke joints

09:31 PT – A representative of American Airlines tells TMZ … "Flight 2408 diverted due to a disruptive passenger. Enforcement met the plane, and the plane left. "They also thanked the crew for taking care of their customers during the chaos.
An American Airlines jet made an unplanned landing Friday after a passenger fired at a joint and got super aggro.
We were told that the plane was flying from Phoenix to Minneapolis, but an hour into the plane the pilot went on the intercom and said they had to make an emergency landing in Denver because of "a back-up security problem."
Passengers got a little freaked, trying to figure out what was going on. The buzz in the cabin was that someone in the back said he was telling everyone around him he was into cocaine. That's when the guy with horrors in the video ran in the back of the plane into the bathroom and locked the door.
Passengers tell us that the flight attendants were super busy and cuddled around the bathroom door, trying to trick the guy out, to no avail.
We were told that the guy was in the bathroom for 10 minutes, and then, 5 minutes before the plane landed, he left the bathroom and went back to the seat. He was very annoying, and when the plane landed, the police and the EMTs boarded.
That's where the video starts … you see the guy pull a joint and a lighter and start smoking. The pilot then came on the intercom and asked passengers in the first 13 rows to get out of the plane so they could remove the man. As they plan, the guy hits one of the passengers.
You hear a passenger say that there were Raiders fans on board so they could take care of the guy.

Cops and EMTs removed the guy, handcuffed him and put him on a gurney. You hear him scream that the cuffs hurt him when he demanded to be released, screaming, "Remove it, it hurts. I want to kill you!"
About 2 hours later, the plane was back in the air … on its way to Minneapolis.
