Prime Video, the Amazon app that hosts all the streaming content, has disappeared from Apple's App Store without explanation from Amazon.
Twitter users began to flag editions they had located Prime Video on the App Store on Friday, as TechCrunch and AppleInsider reported, and more mobile users who shared screengrabs of attempted updates that appeared on an alert that said, "The developer has removed this app from the App Store." According to reports the app is also missing from Apple TV.
Gizmodo confirmed that Prime Video is no longer available for download through the App Store, even though the app itself appears to be functioning normal y. The Prime Video account has not yet responded to Twitter, where users have tweeted about problems finding the app in the App Store. Starting just after 2 p.m. ET, last post The account that was shared was a gif that was tweeted 13 hours before.
Now for comment, an Apple spokesperson directed us to Prime Video PR. Neither Amazon nor a Prime Video spokesman immediately returned a request for comment, but we will update this post as soon as we hear back.
