The joint health service between Amazon, JP Morgan and Berkshire Hathaway finally has a name: "Haven."
In addition to the new brand, the company also presented a website with more details on venture, including a number of areas of focus, including: Enhancing the process of navigating the complex health care system; get access to affordable treatments and prescription drugs.
Haven also said on his website that it is interested in working with clinicians and insurance companies to improve the overall health care system, suggesting that the venture will work with existing actors such as insurance companies, suppliers and pharmacy managers rather than raising them
The site also contains a letter where Gaw spirit describes the role of the oceans as being "the advocate of the patient and an ally of some – clinicians, industry leaders, innovators, policemen and others – who make patient care and cost better. "
It follows a statement by Haven Chief Operating Officer Jack Stoddard who recently said the group wants to make healthcare easier to understand, cheaper, and ideally produce better results for employees, according to legal testimony in an employment relationship between the new venture and au on insurance company UnitedHealth Group
And at a dinner during JP Morgan's annual health conference in January, Dimon told a room of industry leaders that he and his partners "are not happy with health care and want to help," according to two people with knowledge of the incident that did not want to be named because it was private.
Here is the full copy of the note from Gawande:
As a surgeon, I have devoted myself to caring for my patients and working to make health care better I think everybody deserves quality healthcare that is both affordable and accessible.
Haven was formed by the leaders of Amazon, Berkshire Hathaway and JP Morgan Chase because they have been frustrated by the quality, service and high costs experienced by their employees and families in the US health system. They believe that we can do better, and in taking this step to form this new organization, they are committed to being part of the solution.
We know that this work will take time and we need help from others, but we will deal with problems step by step and make sure patients remain our top priority. These are our main principles:
- We want to be a patient spokesman and an ally of some – clinicians, industry leaders, innovators, policemen and others – who make patient care and cost better.
- We want to create new solutions and work to change systems, technologies, contracts, policies and anything else is in the way of better health care.
- We want to be relentless. We want to make sure that our work has a great impact and is sustainable. And we are committed to doing this work in the long term
