Amazon's advertising business will take Google's market share in 2019, according to new estimates from the research firm eMarketer.
In October, CNBC reported that some advertisers, especially in consumer packaging space, moved as much as half the search budget from Google to Amazon. Advertising on Amazon can provide a strong return on investment, as customers are just one click away from buying the advertised product.
Of the top five companies in digital advertising – which also includes Microsoft and Verizon – only Amazon and Facebook are expected to increase market share in 2019.
