862 520 Fiat-Chrysler vehicles have emission problems, will be recalled
Questions with the catalysts to 862,520 Fiat-Chrysler cars request a semi-voluntary recall, according to US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) officials and the California Air Resources Board (CARB).

The recall will be carried out in phases, when owners of older cars are notified first that they can get their cars to be resolved. The final phase is expected to start in the fourth quarter of 2019. Unlike previous Fiat-Chrysler emissions, these repairs are needed.
The recall is voluntary in most states, but compliance with the recall is compulsory in California. This means that owners of the above-mentioned Dodge, Chrysler and Jeep vehicles will not be able to register their cars in the Golden State without returning them to the necessary repairs.
In a press release, CARB noted that the current Fiat-Chrysler vehicles released excess nitrogen oxides, "which is the main contributor to surrounding ozone and an important contributor to fine particulate pollution (PM 2.5)." These two factors are "associated with premature death, asthma emergency visits, increased hospitalization due to exacerbation of chronic heart and lung diseases, and other serious health effects."
