4.2 million workers quit their jobs in October, as the decline in the labor market continues

Industries with the highest level of employees leaving are those who have been most affected by the pressure from the pandemic, including accommodation and food services, with 6 per cent of workers leaving for the month. In retail, 4.4 percent of workers quit. In arts, entertainment and recreation, a further 3.8 per cent of workers leave. Around 803,000 people quit their jobs in accommodation and food services during the month, according to the survey.
