20 kg pounds of frozen beef patties recalled over plastic concerns




WASHINGTON – The US Department of Agriculture's Food Security and Inspection Service announced on Wednesday, April 3, about 20 377 pounds of AdvancePierre Foods and Enid, Okla. Prepared beef patties can be contaminated with plastic.

Product figures "EST. 2260E" inside the USDA inspection mark are subject to revocation. The beef patties were produced on November 30, 2018.

The following recall products were sent to nationwide retail and institutional locations:

  • 14.06-lb. cases containing three bags of 30 pcs. for a total of 90 servings of "CN FULLY COOKED FLAMEBROILED BEEF PATTIES CARAMEL COLOR ADDED" with case number 1[ads1]55-525-0 and package number 8334.

USDA says the problem was found in April 1, having received two customer complaints regarding soft purple plastic as found in the product.

If you find this product in your freezer, the USDA says they should be thrown or returned to the place of purchase.
