2.5 million pounds of taquitos recalled by Texas producer over salmonella, listeria worries | Public health




Ruiz Food Products has recalled nearly 2.5 million pounds of taquitos, saying that the onions could be contaminated with salmonella and listeria.

The 24-piece Taquitos packages, supplied nationwide, have establishment numbers 45694, 17523A, P-17523A or P-45694 in the USDA mark for inspection. They were produced from 1 July to 10 October.

The following products are recalled:

  • 4,5-lb. cardboard boxes with 24-inch Go-Go Taquito's "Beef Taco & Cheese Taquitos" with a number 861[ads1]83 printed on the label.
  • 4.5-lb. cardboard bags with 24-inch Go-Go Taquito's "Buffalo Style Cooked Glassed Chicken Taquitos" with a number 86006 printed on the label.
  • 4.5-lb. cardboard bags with 24-inch Go-Go Taquito's "Chipotle Chicken wrapped in Tortilla" with a number 86019 printed on the label.

Customers who bought Taquitos are advised to throw them out or return them to the store. Anyone with questions can call the consumer's hotline at Ruiz Food Products Inc. at 1-800-772-6474.
